We had such a wonderful day on Brady's birthday party day! This day was so much fun for us and for him from start to finish! As you can see, his party was a safari animal theme! His giant giraffe from his nursery even got to attend the special event! I have to say that planning this party was so much fun down to every little detail. Brady's birthday banner that you see was specially handmade from Aunt Lauren, the food that day was wonderfully prepared by Bryan and Grandma and Grandpa Delmore, the cakes were uniquely designed by Aunt Rachel and I (however, we did not make them - our favorite bakery here did a fantastic job), the morning of decorating was done by great grandma Mary and I...so as you can see, it was a group effort that day and that is what made it so special. Brady was smiling all day long! I will never forget this day! We can't believe our little boy is one year old!
We had 2 pictures on the table with his cakes...one of him at 6 days old that you see above and another of him more recently below. Wow, how much he has changed in just one year!
His little cake and the big cake were in the design of a giraffe print - it just could not have looked better! They really looked awesome!

While everyone was singing "happy birthday" to Brady, he just looked back and forth to Bryan and I and it was almost like he was thinking...'is this celebration really all for me'...it was the cutest thing ever with those big blue eyes and adorable smile - it melted our hearts!
Then it was 'party time' and he got those little hands right in his cake and loved it!
You can barely see that smile underneath all that chocolate frosting, but he was smiling the whole time!
Look how proud brady is to show off his frosting beard!! What fun he had eating his cake and what fun we had watching our adorable son experience something totally new!
Aunt Lauren and Aunt Rachel were the lucky ones to try to clean Brady up...but as you can see below Brady wasn't ready for that yet...he wanted his buddy Vance to have a taste of his cake too!
Brady and Vance have such an amazing friendship...here is Brady feeding Vance some of his birthday cake - what a sweetie...they both are!
Vance remembers this day for him just about 3 1/2 months ago!
Nothing better than cold milk to wash down all that cake and frosting! About a week before his birthday we eliminated his last bottle and changed him from formula to whole milk. Brady is now completely on whole milk and no bottles - the transition was a breeze for him!
He loves his sippies...thank you 'Aunt' Kathleen for the suggestion on the great sippies!

We made a little play area for the boys at the bottom of the stairs - that was about the only place available to play with a house full of guests. It worked out perfectly though. It is really interesting to watch these little boys play together. I didn't realize that babies as young as just a year old could play so well together! However, Vance and Brady have been together every day for their entire lives, so that definitely may have something to do with it!
Look how cute those boys are! Vance and Ben are walking, Brady is standing but not walking at the time of his party. However, just 4 days later he took his first steps!!!

That night Vance stayed over to play for a while and the boys just played and played with those balloons! We just watched them and took in that wonderful moment of pure joy as they giggled and laughed and had the greatest time!
They are so precious! What a great blessing it is to have cousin Vance, Aunt Rachel and Uncle Chad live so close!
